How to Download Facebook Videos for Free
Facebook makes it deliberately difficult to download videos from their platform. There is no download button, and the mobile app only lets you "save" videos within Facebook itself. To actually save a video file to your device, you need an external tool.
How to Download a Facebook Video
- Find the video on Facebook and click the three dots menu.
- Select "Copy link" to get the video URL.
- Open the Facebook downloader on LoveConverts.
- Paste the link and click Download.
- Save the video to your device.
This works for regular video posts, Facebook Watch content, and Facebook Reels.
Getting the Right Link on Mobile
On the Facebook mobile app, the "Copy link" option is sometimes buried. Here is where to find it:
- Feed videos: Tap the three dots in the top right corner of the post, then "Copy link."
- Reels: Tap the Share button, then "Copy link."
- Watch videos: Tap Share, then "Copy link."
Quality and File Size
Facebook serves videos at different quality levels depending on the viewer's connection. The downloader fetches the highest available quality, which is typically:
- HD (720p): Standard quality for most Facebook videos.
- Full HD (1080p): Available if the creator uploaded in high quality.
- SD (480p): Older videos or those uploaded at low quality.
If the downloaded video is too large for sharing, use the video compressor to reduce the file size.
Downloads from Other Platforms
The same approach works across social platforms. LoveConverts has dedicated downloaders for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter/X. Copy the link, paste, download.
